Amid the political turmoil in Karnataka, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said he is ready to “wait” for as long as the Congress high command wants, as he rejected claims of any internal rift.
“If the high command says wait, I have waited, and I will wait. I will do whatever the high command tells me. If the high command asks us to go, we will go to Delhi,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also stressed that the party remains united.
“DKS and I are united, and there are no differences between us. We will follow whatever decision the high command takes. We will move together towards the 2028 polls. We have a strategy to move forward,” he said.
Siddaramaiah said he and DK Shivakumar had reviewed preparations for the 2028 Assembly elections as well as the upcoming local body polls, which the Karnataka CM described as “very important” for the Congress.
He noted that the two leaders had worked together to bring the party to power in 2023 and had now agreed to continue with the same unity and focus.
“Our agenda is the 2028 elections. Local body elections are important. We discussed them. We also discussed bringing back Congress in the 2028 elections. We discussed that we will go together. There are no differences between us and there will be no differences in the future…” he said.
