Spanish luxury gifting and home decor brand Lladro is betting big on Diwali this year, expecting approx 20 per cent growth in 2025, with festive sales alone contributing nearly a fifth of its India business, Nikhil Lamba, CEO, Lladro India, told ETRetail.

“Eighteen percent of our business comes from Diwali. So the Diwali month becomes really important for us. From January to August, we have already grown 17 per cent. In 2024, we grew by 10 per cent. So this year, we are easily expecting a growth of 20 per cent,” he asserted.

India has become the brand’s third-largest market globally after Japan and the US.

“We are present in 120 countries across the world. The Asian markets like Japan, India, and China have become important for us,” Lamba noted.

The company currently operates nine boutiques across metro cities, each around 1,000 sq. ft.

“All our stores follow a COCO model. We may add another store in Mumbai, but smaller towns are not ready yet,” he added.

Lladro offers between 100-300 SKUs in India, with price points starting from Rs 8,000 onwards. The average selling price offline stands at Rs 1 lakh, and online it is slightly lower, around Rs 50,000.

Every Lladro product is handmade in Valencia, Spain, with no outsourcing. The brand offers all the categories in India, including international ones.

“Even if we don’t stock some cultural pieces, they can still be sourced,” he stated.

Looking ahead, the brand plans to strengthen its presence in home décor and porcelain lighting. “Lighting is an important part. Our lighting is porcelain, not crystal, so you can play around with colours,” Lamba concluded.
