Luggage covered in poop? Virgin Atlantic says it did not come from plane, it's not human excrement
Virgin Atlantic reacted to the viral complaints of passengers’ bags coming covered with poop in the conveyor belt of JFK Airport

Virgin Atlantic has addressed the viral incident of a passenger’s baggage getting covered in poop and said it was neither poop and nor did it come from the aircraft. A passenger posted a video from the John F Kennedy International Airport claiming that Virgin Atlantic emptied the plane’s toilet on the baggage. The passenger also claimed that there was a rancid smell at the carousel before the bags came. Several bags all from the Heathrow to JFK plane, were seen covered with light brown splatters. “I literally went into shock,” the woman, Sosan wrote in a comment on her video. “I couldn’t believe my eyes and nose.” She said the airline didn’t make a formal announcement and claimed that there were “children with poo all over them.”“How are all these bags covered in human s**t! Floor staff saying they can’t provide wipes, new bags or hand sanitizer and that we have to ‘write an email to customer team’. All my clothes destroyed as I have a fabric bag,” one wrote. Virgin Atlantic said the substance on the bags was not human excrement and it did not come from the plane. “We’re aware of a New York JFK system failure that affected the baggage of a small number of arriving customers on July 14,” a spokesperson said, as quoted by Daily Mail. “We’re working closely with the team at JFK and local authorities to ensure the issue is resolved. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to affected customers.” The airline said the substance was grease from a broken pipe in the terminal. This complicated the situation more and enraged the flyers as the flyers asked why the airline staff did not do anything when they saw the garbage on the bags and why they picked and loaded them on the conveyor belt — also without telling anything to the passengers. Plae toilets are generally emptied at designated biohazard locations at airports.
