McDonald’s for US President? Mobile fast food truck seen in Saudi Arabia during Donald Trump's visit

Saudi Arabia arranged for a mobile McDonald’s unit to be set up during US President Donald Trump’s visit to the kingdom. The mobile McDonald’s was stationed near the Saudi Royal Court and was reportedly part of the elaborate welcome Trump received in Riyadh. Though initially shuttered, the unit caught attention for catering to the president’s well-known love of fast food.Riyadh rolled out extensive preparations for the high-profile visit. American and Saudi flags lined the streets, while American-made police cars maintained a strong security presence throughout the city. At the official media centre labelled “Media Oasis”, large video screens showcased the kingdom’s modern development, including the upcoming NEOM city and the 2034 FIFA World Cup it will host.President Trump was well catered for during his visit, with the mobile McDonald’s set up near his location in Riyadh. Journalists covering his trip spotted the moveable fast food unit, which was hooked up to a large truck. Mike Wagenheim, an i24NEWS journalist, shared a post saying, “Yes, it’s a mobile McDonald’s here in Riyadh.”This comes after Trump arrived to begin the first major overseas trip of his second term, where he was greeted by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman with an extravagant reception.Prince Turki al-Faisal, the former head of Saudi intelligence and ambassador to both the US and Britain, was quoted in Arab News: “Our doors and hearts are open to you.”Trump is also scheduled to travel to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates this week.Additionally, the President is facing criticism for the administration’s decision to accept a luxury jet from Qatar to be used as Air Force One.In October 2024, Donald Trump was seen serving fries at a McDonald’s in Feasterville-Trevose, Pennsylvania. However, McDonald’s said that they had no involvement in his visit.
