Mohit Suri reveals why he felt bad after receiving a message from Sandeep Reddy Vanga post 'Saiyaara' release: 'After Animal, half the world was against him'

Mohit Suri is currently riding high on the success of his latest film ‘Saiyaara’, and the filmmaker has now opened up about a generous gesture from Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who supported the film by sharing its trailer on his social media handle ahead of its release. Vanga also reached out to Mohit after watching the film to express his appreciation. Suri admitted he felt disheartened when ‘Animal’ received criticism from many quarters.Sandeep Texted Mohit After the Release of ‘Saiyaara’In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, the ‘Aashiqui 2’ director spoke about how Vanga went out of his way to support ‘Saiyaara’. Vanga had previously posted on social media expressing his interest in the film and his appreciation for its trailer. Suri confirmed that the ‘Animal’ director’s message truly made him happy.Mohit Regret Not Publicly Acknowledging ‘Animal’

Suri shared that he felt compelled to message Vanga after watching ‘Animal’. “After Animal was released, half the world seemed to be against him. But I genuinely loved the film. I messaged him at the time, telling him I could see the director’s vision in every frame. I didn’t know him personally, but I became a fan. I wish I had posted publicly about it, but I was off social media then,” he admitted. He acknowledged that his lack of public praise still bothers him. “Personal praise is common in this industry, but public acknowledgement is rare. Sandeep did both, and that takes a secure and generous person. The first thing my wife told me was that it takes confidence to praise someone publicly like that. I completely agree,” Suri shared.Mutual Respect Despite Different StylesSuri also addressed Vanga’s earlier comment about how many people appreciated ‘Animal’ privately but chose not to do so publicly. He explained that he wasn’t on social media during that time as he needed space to focus on making ‘Saiyaara’, especially since the film featured debutants and carried its own weight.Despite working in different genres, both Suri and Vanga are fans of each other’s films and continue to share mutual respect for each other’s craft.About ‘Saiyaara’Directed by Mohit Suri, ‘Saiyaara’ hit the big screens on June 18. The film marks the debut of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, and the duo has been receiving a lot of love for their performances from both audiences and industry insiders alike.
