Donald Trump’s former aide Steve Bannon, who never shied away from expressing his hatred towards Elon Musk, has now raised suspicion about Elon Musk’s ‘black eye’ that he sported at the Oval Office farewell that was jointly addressed by Elon Musk and President Donald Trump. Steve Bannon said the ‘black eye’ was not caused by Elon Musk’s physical fight with Scott Bessent in the White House, as that took place almost a month ago. But the explanation that Musk gave, that his five-year-old son X punched him in the face after he encouraged him to do so, was not credible enough. Bannon said he was not sure whether a five-year-old could cause such a prominent black eye. Bannon said it would definitely come up in one of the drug investigations. The day Elon and Trump held the press conference, a New York Times report accused Elon Musk of overdosing on Ketamine. The report detailed how Elon Musk became overly dependent on drugs at a time when he was navigating personal and professional crises. His involvement in politics and the Trump administration made his companies suffer as Tesla came under attack. On the personal front, he was entangled in legal fights with the mothers of his children. Musk rejected the drug allegation and slammed the NYT. His black eye, however, did not escape scrutiny, and on being asked about it during the press conference, he narrated the story of how he got punched by his son, playfully. Later, Donald Trump raised the matter Thursday and said he noticed the black eye before the press conference and offered him make-up to hide the mark, which Elon Musk refused. Many insiders feel this ‘make up’ story that Trump divulged while speaking to the reporters enraged Musk to go on a warpath with the president.
