US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Monday warned that foreigners who celebrate the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk will face visa revocations and deportation.In a post on X, Rubio wrote, “America will not host foreigners who celebrate the death of our fellow citizens. Visa revocations are under way. If you are here on a visa and cheering on the public assassination of a political figure, prepare to be deported. You are not welcome in this country.”The State Secretary is currently on a two-day visit to Israel, where he is meeting officials to discuss securing the return of hostages, humanitarian aid delivery to civilians and the ongoing threat posed by Hamas. He reiterated the US stance in a Fox News interview from Jerusalem.Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau also issued a similar warning, saying that foreigners who glorify violence “are not welcome visitors.” He urged people to report such behavior to consular officials. In a post on X, Landau wrote, “In light of yesterday’s horrific assassination of a leading political figure, I want to underscore that foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country. I have been disgusted to see some on social media praising, rationalizing, or making light of the event, and have directed our consular officials to undertake appropriate action. Please feel free to bring such comments by foreigners to my attention so that the state department can protect the American people.“President Donald Trump also confirmed that his administration is “looking at names” of individuals whose visas could be revoked. “We don’t like that. That’s not right. These are sick people. These are really deranged people,” Trump told reporters on Sunday.The assassination of Charlie Kirk took place last Wednesday at Utah Valley University, where the 31-year-old conservative commentator was on stage hosting his “Prove Me Wrong” debate series.Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has separately ordered an internal review to identify military personnel or individuals linked to the Pentagon who may have mocked or condoned the killing.
