The 23-year-old assailant, identified as Robin Westman, was carrying weapons with “NUKE INDIA” written on one of them, according to American far-right political activist Laura Loomer, who shared pictures. Westman on Wednesday opened fire through the windows of a Catholic church in Minneapolis, killing two children and injuring 17. According to police, the incident took place at about 8.30 am at Annunciation Catholic Church, which has a school for children in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Children had gathered to observe an all-school Mass, which is an annual tradition for the new academic year, which began Monday. Brian O’Hara, Minneapolis police chief, said that Westman died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

‘NUKE INDIA, Kill Donald Trump’

Apart from “NUKE INDIA”, “Suck On This!”, ” Mashallah”, “ISRAEL MUST FALL”, “Like a Phoenix we rise from the ash”, “Born to Shit, Forced to Wipe”, “6 million wasn’t enough” and “Kill Donald Trump” were also written on the weapons.

Influenced by anti-Indian and anti-Jewish Islamic propaganda?

Sharing the pictures of the weapons, Loomer suggested that the assailant was influenced by anti-Indian and anti-Jewish Islamic propaganda. “Not really a shocker to see a person like this living in Ilhan Omar’s district kill Catholics. Another example of the Red-Green alliance,” she added. However, police did not verify these claims, while several handles shared the viral claims that Westman’s guns and gun magazines had several messages written on them.Meanwhile, law enforcement officials claimed that Westman is believed to be a former student of the school. FBI director, Kash Patel took cognisance of the incident and said that the agency is investigating the incident as an act of domestic terrorism and a hate crime targeting Catholics.

Diary entries describing killing of children

The motive behind the act is not determined yet. With fresh details emerging, Westman’s social media accounts gained attention as they contain videos of diary entries that describe the killing of children and a drawing of the church’s sanctuary. The videos also captured weapons, bullets and explosive devices.

ROBERT Westman until 2020, then ROBIN Westman

Several social media handles shared pictures of Westman and claimed that he was transgender. “The alleged shooter released multiple videos on social media, which showed that he clearly hated Christians. They have since been taken down. ‘Where is your God?’ read one mag. Evil monster,” Collin Rugg posted.Internet personality Nick Sortor, in a social post, shared that Robin Westman was previously known as Robert Westman. He further raised the issue of trans violence, saying, “it must be addressed now.” Sortor further cited court records, which noted that Westman was identified as trans when he was a minor, then his parents signed off on it. “His name was ROBERT Westman until 2020, when he changed his name to ROBIN Westman,” Sortor added.
