One man was killed and four others injured early Sunday when gunfire broke out between two groups at a large outdoor gathering in Danville, Virginia.The shooting happened around 1:30 am on a private property near the intersection of Carver Drive and Cheyenne Drive, according to a statement from the Danville police department.Investigators believe shots were exchanged between people inside a Chrysler sedan and others at the gathering.Officers found 22-year-old Jay’Shaun Tiejae White of Hurt, Virginia, sitting alone in a Chrysler sedan in the middle of the roadway with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.A second man, believed to have been driving the Chrysler, was found on a nearby street with a gunshot wound. He was taken to SOVAH Health hospital in Danville. His condition has not been released.Three other victims, two adult men and a 19-year-old woman, arrived at the hospital in private vehicles and were treated for gunshot wounds.As of Sunday afternoon, the three men remained hospitalized, police said. No arrests have been made.The Danville police department is urging anyone with information to come forward and speak with detectives.
