New Delhi: In a sudden announcement, PUMA India Managing Director Karthik Balagopalan has stepped down from his role due to personal reasons, the company stated in a media release on Tuesday.

“Karthik Balagopalan has decided to leave PUMA and has stepped down as the Managing Director of PUMA India, to focus on family priorities in Germany,” the company said in a statement.

Balagopalan, who has been associated with the sportswear major since 2006, was appointed as the MD of PUMA India in May 2023. Before taking over as the MD, he served as PUMA’s global director of retail and e-commerce. Also, he held management positions in the retail operations and business development at the company.

The company has not announced a new MD yet. “We will officially announce the successor soon. We wish Karthik all the best,” the statement read.
