Salman Khan says ‘I don’t think I am a great actor’; ‘Mujhe lagta hai aap log mujh par hans dete ho,’ fans refuse to agree

Salman Khan recently attended the Red Sea Film Festival 2025 in Jeddah, and what was meant to be a routine interaction soon turned into one of the most talked-about moments of the event. In a refreshingly candid admission, the Bollywood superstar surprised everyone by questioning his own acting abilities.Speaking about his craft, Salman said, “Acting has also left this generation. Toh mujhe nahi lagta ki main koi bahut hi kamaal ka actor hoon (Acting seems to have left this generation as well. So I don’t think I am a particularly great actor). You can catch me doing anything, but you can’t catch me acting. Voh hoti hi nahi mujhse (I can’t do it). Jaisa feel hota hai, vaise karta hoon. Bas yahi hai (I simply do what I feel in the moment. That’s all).”

Fans refuse to agree, emotions take over

When the host turned to the audience and asked whether Salman was being fair to himself, the response was loud and unanimous — a clear no. The crowd’s disagreement seemed to catch Salman off guard, prompting him to add a self-deprecating quip that brought laughter and emotion in equal measure.“Kabhi-kabhi jab main rota hoon, mujhe lagta hai aap log mujh par hans dete ho (Sometimes when I cry, I know you guys laugh at me),” he said. But before the moment could turn inward, fans immediately shouted back, “No, we cry with you.”The heartfelt exchange visibly moved the actor. Salman broke into a broad, content smile — a rare glimpse of vulnerability from a star often known for his larger-than-life persona. The video of the interaction quickly surfaced on social media, with fans praising not just his honesty, but also the genuine bond he shares with his audience.

Work front

On the work front, Salman’s last release, Sikandar, failed to resonate with audiences and ended up as a box office disappointment. However, the actor is now gearing up for his next big-screen outing in Apoorva Lakhia’s Battle of Galwan, where he will be seen essaying the role of an Army officer. The film also stars Chitrangada Singh in a pivotal role and is expected to release in 2026.
