A fresh opportunity has opened for Saudi youth as the Ministry of Defense launches a new military recruitment cycle for both men and women. Starting December 7, applicants can register online for ranks from Private to Sergeant, with positions open to high-school, diploma and degree holders. The ministry says the drive aims to strengthen national forces with qualified and diverse talent.

What the Saudi Ministry announced?

In a significant step reflecting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to empower national talent, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) has officially opened its doors for the Unified Recruitment Program for military service. This cycle is notably comprehensive, inviting qualified Saudi men and women to apply for enlistment across the various Armed Forces branches. The announcement, widely publicized on the Ministry’s official platforms, marks a continued commitment to integrating highly educated and skilled Saudi citizens into the Kingdom’s defense structure.Applications are accepted exclusively through the official Joint Military Recruitment Command Platform. According to the MoD’s announcement, the application window officially began on Sunday, December 7, and typically runs for a specific, limited period. Interested applicants must act quickly to submit their requests during this registration window.

Ranks and specializations

This recruitment drive is unique in its breadth, covering a wide spectrum of qualifications and ranks. The available positions cater to varying educational backgrounds, ensuring that talented individuals from all levels can find a place within the military sectors.The available military ranks span from entry-level to non-commissioned officer roles:

  • Soldier (Jundi)
  • First Soldier (Jundi Awal)
  • Corporal (Areef)
  • Vice Sergeant (Wakeel Raqeeb)
  • Sergeant (Raqeeb)

The Ministry is seeking applicants from three primary educational levels: Bachelor’s degrees, Diploma holders, and General Secondary School (High School) graduates. The roles are highly specialized, aiming to leverage modern academic and professional skills. The breadth of specializations is extensive, featuring over 100 fields, including:

  • Engineering & Technology: Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Aeronautical Engineering, IT, Network Systems, Information Security, and Programming.
  • Health & Medical Sciences: Nursing, Public Health, Emergency Medicine, Physical Therapy, Dental Technology, and Medical Laboratories.
  • Administrative & Language Fields: Law, Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, and specialized languages like Chinese and Hebrew.
  • Creative & Vocational Arts: Photography, Graphic Design, and even Culinary Arts (Food Production).

  • Health: Must be medically and physically fit for military service.
  • Employment Status: Must not currently be a government employee or previously dismissed from any military or government sector.
  • Tests: Must pass all mandatory admission procedures, including personal interviews, physical fitness assessments, and specialized tests.

This recruitment round aims to expand military staffing across different branches and specialties while offering career paths for Saudi youth and women with different educational backgrounds.
