The sequel to Kalki 2898 AD has officially gone on floors, with Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan beginning the first shooting schedule in Shankarpally. Prabhas is expected to join the film at a later stage, as his scenes are not part of the current schedule.Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone will not return for Part 2, and reports suggest Sai Pallavi is being considered to step into the role of Sumathi, though no official confirmation has been made. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sequel is expected to further expand its mythological sci-fi universe, diving deeper into the conflict between Ashwatthama and Supreme Yaskin.
