Delhi Student Suicide Case: Massive Protest Outside School After Note Alleges Harassment By Teachers
A 16-year-old Class 10 student from Delhi died after allegedly jumping from the platform at Rajendra Place Metro Station, leaving behind a handwritten note that sparked widespread protests. In the note, the boy apologised to his family and attributed his decision to alleged harassment by teachers, requesting that action be taken so that “no other student” suffers similarly. According to an FIR filed by his father, the student had been under “severe mental stress” due to repeated scolding, humiliation and alleged mental harassment over minor issues. The family said their concerns, raised multiple times with school authorities, were ignored, and that the boy’s distress had intensified in recent weeks. After news of his death spread, parents and students gathered outside the school demanding accountability. Police are currently verifying the allegations in the note and the FIR. A friend claimed the boy had long-standing issues, including conflicts with a drama teacher.
