PM Modi said the Monsoon Session is a session of national pride and celebration of victory

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday described the Monsoon Session of Parliament as a “session of national pride and celebration of victory,” spotlighting India’s landmark achievement of hoisting the national tricolour on the International Space Station (ISS).
“When I say that the Monsoon Session is a session of national pride and celebration of victory, I say it because, above all, the hoisting of the Indian tricolour on the International Space Station is a moment of immense pride for every citizen of the country,” he said.

Highlighting the symbolic importance of the season, PM Modi added, “The monsoon is a symbol of prosperity, and according to the reports received so far, the weather is progressing very well across the country.” He noted that current conditions are favourable for agriculture and vital for boosting the rural economy and the livelihood of farmers.

PM Modi On Op Sindoor, India’s Defence
Calling the session a true celebration of victory, PM Modi praised the Indian Armed Forces for the success of Operation Sindoor, where military personnel “neutralised the terrorist hideout within just 22 minutes,” completing the mission deep inside enemy territory with precision.
He also emphasised the growing global respect for India’s defence capabilities, saying, “The world is greatly attracted to the new form of India’s military strength, built on the foundation of Made-in-India defence capabilities. I firmly believe that when Parliament, in one voice, acknowledges and celebrates this victory, it will strengthen and encourage India’s armed forces even further.”
On internal security, the Prime Minister remarked that while the country has long faced violence in the form of terrorism and Naxalism, the reach of Naxalism is now shrinking rapidly. “With a firm resolve to eradicate Naxalism from its roots, our security forces are swiftly advancing toward success,” he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the efforts of a multi-party delegation of MPs who, in the aftermath of the Pahalgam massacre, set aside political differences to represent India’s united stand against terrorism.
“The brutal massacre in Pahalgam had shocked the entire world. In that critical moment, leaders from across the political spectrum came together and travelled abroad in the national interest,” he said. “Their unified effort played a key role in exposing Pakistan — the mastermind behind terrorism — before the international community. I commend all those Members of Parliament and parties who rose above politics in the spirit of national unity.”
PM Modi to Opposition: Political Differences Aside, Let’s Stand United for the Nation
Calling for a spirit of cooperation in the Monsoon Session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged Members of Parliament to uphold national unity, even amid political disagreements.
“Yes, parties may differ and have their agendas — I fully accept that,” he said. “But even if we don’t agree politically, our hearts must align when it comes to the nation’s interest.”
He expressed hope that the House would conduct meaningful, high-quality debates on several crucial bills aimed at advancing India’s development, and extended his best wishes to all MPs for a constructive session.
