Top adviser of Donald Trump Boris Epshteyn who reportedly clashed with Elon Musk at the dinner table with Mar-a-Lago has come under investigation ordered by President-elect Donald Trump. Epshteyn has been accused of asking potential nominees to pay monthly fees to him for lobbying for them to Trump.
Ephsteyn has been a long-time Trump ally, but the President-elect won’t spare him if the charges against him are true. According to reports, Ephstyen unsuccessfully solicited tens of thousands of dollars from potential nominees, including Scott Bessent, who has been nominated as the treasury secretary.
A day after Trump met Bessent for the first time in February, Ephsteyn invited Bessent to lunch and asked for a monthly fee of $30,000 to keep on pushing his name in case Trump won the election. Bessent declined the payment and complained to other MAGA insiders.
But Ephsteyn was there in Trump’s inner circle on Monday evening. Matt Gaetz was a candidate pushed by Ephsteyn though now Pam Bondi is the new attorney general nomination as Gaetz withdrew his name in the wake of the sexual offense allegations that became difficult for him to surmount.
Eric Trump says Ephsteyn is toast if allegations are true
Donald Trump’s son Eric Trump said Ephsteyn will be ejected from the inner circle of MAGA if the allegations against him are true. “My father’s been very clear: You do not do that under any circumstance and, believe me, there will be repercussions if somebody was,” Eric said on Fox News. “I certainly hope the reporting’s false. I can also tell you if it’s true, that person will probably no longer be around,” he added.
Eric said Ephsteyn is a good human being but if the reports are true, he will be done.
