The handshake between President-elect Donald Trump and French President Emanual Macron became a viral moment during Trump’s visit to Paris for the reopening of Norte Dame cathedral. This is Trump’s first international visit after his election win and Republicans can’t stop cheering “how Trump has already taken over the control of the world”.
In the viral video in which Trump and Macron shook hands, they were seen caught in a wrestling moment before Trump put Macron’s hand down.
“President Trump is back to dominating world leaders with his handshake. Macron is going to need a hand massage after all that twisting and pulling Trump did to him,” one comment said.
“President Trump manhandles French President Emmanuel Macron with one of the most dominating handshakes I’ve ever seen. We are so back,” another said.
“President Trump just made Macron his b*tch with one handshake,” one wrote.
“Donald Trump’s handshake with Emmanuel Macron pretty much sums up US-French relations,” another comment said.
“Trump shows Macron whose boss as he gives him a very firm handshake,” another wrote.
“Emmanuel Macron might need a chiropractor after that handshake from Trump. 😂” one comment said.
Macron, Trump handshake has a long history
This is not the first time that Trump and Macron created ripples with their handshake. Earlier reports even detailed how their knuckles even turned white after long handshake. During their first meeting in May 2017, they shook their hands for an extended period of time with extraordinary intensity. Macron even called the experience a “moment of truth”. The same was repeated after two months. For Trump, handshakes are a statement of dominance and the Notre Dame event was the first occasion where Trump got to display his famous handshake.
