On the third anniversary of Tamil Nadu Victory Kazhagam (TVK), actor-turned-politician and party chief Vijay addressed his cadres as he prepared for the upcoming state Assembly election. He used the occasion to boost the morale and fighting spirit of his party workers.
Vijay’s message to his ‘Comrades’
In a post on X, Vijay said the 2026 Assembly election presents a political situation in the state unlike any before and claimed that this change was due to TVK’s political arrival.
He wrote, “The 2026 Assembly election arena stands bearing a new situation unlike any before. Everyone says the sole reason for this is our political arrival alone. Therefore, in this context, we will claim the field as our own and, through the gateway of electoral political victory, with chosen clarity and skillful strategy, proceed toward recognition in power politics. With the unyielding support of all people, descending into the arena with determination and unity, we will firmly achieve the democratic goal of seizing the reins of governance.”
‘TVK’s political arrival changed 2026 poll landscape’
Vijay described TVK as a movement that began as a people’s force before evolving into a political entity.
“To the comrades residing in my heart, greetings. The joyous third year of our vibrant movement, the Tamil Nadu Victory Kazhagam, begins today. Having completed two years, and extending beyond the ordinary, our grand political journey stretches onward. Before transforming into the primary political force, we stood as a people’s movement, blending with the people as one of them. The nation knows this. Good people understand it,” he wrote.
He added that TVK had remained steady despite challenges and described it as a movement for empowerment politics for common people.

Vijay repeated that TVK would approach the 2026 Assembly election with clarity, strategy, unity, and determination to achieve what he called the democratic goal of taking charge of governance.
The remarks come ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Ongoing controversies
Vijay has recently faced questioning by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Karur stampede in September that killed 41 people. His film Jana Nayagan is also facing issues at the censor board due to unresolved certification matters. The censor board has reportedly marked certain dialogues and visual sequences as problematic for potentially offending religious people.
