TL;DR:

  • Parkin PJSC launched nine paid parking subscription plans, from Dh100 to Dh8,400 per year, covering zones across Dubai including edge cases like Dubai Hills, Silicon Oasis, and staff/student options.
  • Starting August 2025, Parkin will operate ~2,100 parking spaces around 59 mosques, offering one-hour free parking during prayer times; outside those hours, standard tariffs apply.
  • The Parkin app offers real-time space locators, AutoPay, PayLater, and subscription management to streamline parking across the city.

Parkin rolled out monthly parking subscriptions starting from Dh100, covering neighbourhoods like Silicon Oasis and Karama. Established under Law No. 30 of 2023, Parkin PJSC became an operating entity for public paid parking in Dubai. Under a 49-year concession with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Parkin manages around 209,000 paid and developer-owned parking spaces, including roadside, plot, and multistorey facilities. The company is responsible for subscriptions, permits, enforcement, and digital platform operations. It also recently signed an MoU with Dubai Municipality to manage certain municipal parking zones.

  • Real-time availability maps to locate free spaces.
  • AutoPay and ANPR-based billing on exit from multistorey garages.
  • PayLater option, allowing users to pay up to 48 hours after exit without fines.
  • Integration of parking fines, permit renewals, and vehicle management.

Free Mosque parking: A first-of-its-kind initiative

From August 2025, Parkin, through a landmark agreement with the Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) will manage 2,100 parking spaces across 59 mosque sites in Dubai. These are designated as 41 Zone M (standard) and 18 Zone MP (premium) locations.

  • Worshippers are entitled to one hour of free parking during prayer times, typically spanning 15 minutes before Adhan and 45 minutes afterward.
  • Outside these hours, standard tariffs apply: Dh2 per 30 min / Dh4 per hour in Zone M, and Dh3–Dh6 in Zone MP depending on peak/off-peak times.
  • The rollout is phased and clearly signposted at each mosque location.

This arrangement was designed to ease access to places of worship, reduce area congestion, and eliminate misuse of mosque-adjacent parking spaces outside prayer periods.

Why this matters

  • Convenience and Cost-Efficiency: Subscription plans provide predictable, bulk parking access, especially beneficial to students, staff, and daily commuters.
  • Smart Mobility Integration: The Parkin app merges technology with usability enabling seamless payments and real-time updates.
  • Community-Centric Mosque Parking: The free parking initiative reflects Dubai’s commitment to religious access while promoting smarter urban mobility and operational efficiency.

Parkin PJSC has systematically transformed Dubai’s public parking system into a tech-enabled, user-friendly service, combining diverse subscription models with app-based convenience. The mosque parking initiative adds a community-oriented dimension, balancing worshipper needs with urban mobility strategy.
