A new video of Democratic Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett has gone viral after she said: “Just because someone has committed a crime, it doesn’t make them a criminal.” The Texas lawmaker’s comments sparked a torrent of online ridicule.“I understood what was kind of pushing them there. And so I do want people to know that just because someone has committed a crime, it doesn’t make them a criminal,” Crockett said. “Being a criminal is more so about your mindset. Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of shooting Kirk at Utah Valley University, was charged with capital murder this week, with prosecutors announcing they would seek the death penalty. This is not the first time Crockett has triggered uproar over her views on law enforcement. Just last week, a clip of her on the Grounded podcast went viral after she claimed that “law enforcement isn’t to prevent crime. Law enforcement solves crime.” Her comments were swiftly denounced by police officers, commentators, and even former intelligence officials, with one branding her remarks “terrifying.”
