'Was saving money for wedding': Indian-origin truck driver dies in horrific road crash in Australia
Indian-origin truck driver Jagseer Boparai crashed his car in Adelaide, died, months before his wedding.

A 37-year-old Indian-origin man, Jagseer Boparai, died in a horrific car accident in the Adelaide suburb of Salisbury in Australia, just weeks before he was supposed to return to India to marry his fiancée. According to 7News, Boparai, a concrete truck driver, lost control of his Honda sedan when the car veered off the road, slammed into a tree and a bus shelter and then a power pole.Emergency services were called to Cross Keys Road just after 2 am Saturday, but Boparai could not be revived. His car was travelling at 50km/h.The concrete truck driver had been saving up to return to India with his brother in December, where he was due to reunite with his fiancée and marry. The tragedy has also shattered the Salisbury community, where Boparai lived. ‘I can’t imagine how his partner would feel,’ resident Duhsak Lal told Nine News. ‘They’re a few days or maybe months away from having the happiest moment of their life and now all that has been taken away.’ The horrific crash caused a power disruption in the nearby homes and businesses and the power pole was bent 90 degrees. The Cross Keys Road was closed in both directions for much of Saturday.Major Crash investigators examined the scene, while SA Power Networks repaired the damaged Stobie pole. Cross Keys Road was closed for several hours but has since reopened.Boparai’s devastated brother, cousin and friend visited the crash site hours later, where they were seen weeping inconsolably over the tragic loss.
