A Texas man could face criminal charges after a disturbing video surfaced online, showing him using a 3-month-old baby to wipe snow off his car.
The shocking footage, which went viral on TikTok and was later shared on Facebook by journalist Kevin Steele, shows the unidentified 25-year-old man holding the bundled-up infant with both hands and using the baby’s body to clear inches of snow from the windshield of a Hyundai Elantra, according to a report from NYP. The man, dressed in a short-sleeve shirt and pants, appeared unfazed by the act, while the baby remained face-up in a thick jacket.
Local police were alerted to the video, prompting an investigation. Port Arthur police chief Tim Duriso confirmed to KBMT that authorities have questioned the man but have not yet filed charges.
“We confirmed that it was a 3-month-old baby,” Duriso said. “He had two other females with him at the time. We suspect one of them was the mother. They checked on the baby, and the baby was just fine.”
Despite the baby reportedly being unharmed, the Jefferson County district attorney’s Office is reviewing the case and could issue an arrest warrant for child endangerment, according to KFDM.
“It’s a sad situation,” Duriso said. “I know a lot of people go to social media looking for clicks… but this is not a deal where you should put a baby on the windshield.”
The incident occurred as Texas faced a rare southern blizzard that brought an unprecedented snowfall, disrupting daily life for residents accustomed to warmer weather. While the winter storm led to scenes of resilience and adaptation, this particular act sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for legal action against the man involved.
Authorities continue to investigate, urging the public to prioritize child safety over social media stunts.
Expressing shock over the video, a user wrote, “No way this is real.”
“Why do these people always film their crimes lol,” another wrote.
“I didn’t believe that was a real baby at first,” a third user reacted.
