'We vow to defend Raavana for the first time': Raj B Shetty reacts to Yash's character in Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana'

Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious project Ramayana has been making waves in the entertainment industry since its announcement, and the makers have now stirred the internet with an official first glimpse featuring Yash and Ranbir Kapoor as Ravana and Lord Rama respectively. The video, released on July 3, is now receiving love from actor-doctor Raj B Shetty from Sandalwood.Raj B Shetty’s reaction to Yash’s roleRaj B Shetty shared his views when Yash dropped the first look poster of Ramayana on his Instagram account. He wrote, “The waves of the ocean, driven by time, cross their boundaries – A Kannada poet defends his antihero by stating that the great ocean crosses its limits because of time, bringing events like tsunamis. His antihero was Raavana. I think for the first time, we vow to defend our Raavana (sic).”

Ramayana – The Introduction

Yash was quick with his reply, “Ramayana, beyond the right and wrong (sic).”About the Ramayana teaserThe teaser was screened at select locations across India, and it had a global unveiling at New York’s Times Square. The team recently completed filming, and a behind-the-scenes video featuring an emotional farewell speech by Ranbir Kapoor has started circulating online. The recently shared teaser glimpse featured Yash emerging from a shady place with his face and body covered. The actor’s unique eye movement thrilled fans. At the same time, Ranbir Kapoor’s Lord Rama avatar was seen delivering an epic archery shot.Sai Pallavi is set to play Goddess Sita in the movie, while Sunny Deol will play Hanuman and Ravi Dubey will portray Lakshman. The film’s soundtrack is composed by music legends Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, with action sequences choreographed by Terry Notary and Guy Norris. Ramayana Part 1 is scheduled for a Diwali 2026 release, with the second part expected to arrive in 2027.Yash’s work frontYash is currently shooting for his next movie Toxic by Geetu Mohandas, and the movie is expected to hit theatres on March 19 2026.
