The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parliamentary party met on Tuesday morning at the Parliament Library building for a special occasion — to formally introduce the alliance’s candidate for the upcoming Vice-Presidential election.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while presenting CP Radhakrishnan as the NDA’s nominee, struck a note of nostalgia.
Speaking warmly of their friendship spanning over four decades, he remarked, “We have been friends since the time both of us had black hair.”
The Prime Minister went on to highlight Radhakrishnan’s humble beginnings and his roots in the OBC community. Emphasising his dignified political journey, Modi praised him for maintaining integrity while serving in constitutional positions such as Governor.
“He comes from a simple background and will never indulge in political games — Raajneeti mein khel nahi karenge,” the Prime Minister is said to have added.
