About Progeria
The Progeria Research Foundation estimates that Progeria, also known as Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome (HGPS), affects about 1 in 20 million people. Children with Progeria begin showing signs of rapid aging within the first two years of life. Symptoms include slow growth, loss of body fat and hair, aging skin, joint stiffness, and heart problems. Mental development is typically normal.
