'Why are the people who gave us...': Harsha Bhogle mourns the loss of Satish Shah, calls him 'brilliant'
Veteran actor Satish Shah has passed away at 74 in Mumbai after kidney failure. Known for his brilliant performances in ‘Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi’ and ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’, his demise has deeply saddened colleagues. Sachin Pilgaonkar shared poignant last memories, highlighting Shah’s dedication to his wife Madhu, who suffers from Alzheimer’s. This marks a significant personal and industry loss.

Veteran actor Satish Shah passed away at the age of 74. The actor was found unresponsive at his Mumbai home and was declared dead on arrival at the hospital, where doctors confirmed that he had suffered from kidney failure. Tributes have been pouring in from all sides.

Cricket commentator calls him ‘brilliant’

Cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle also expressed his shock over the veteran actor’s sudden demise. Taking to his X handle, he wrote, ‘Why are the people who gave us joy going away? Having just said good bye to Piyush Pandey, comes the news of the passing of Satish Shah who was brilliant in Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi and Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro and so many many more.’

Sachin Pilgaonkar shares personal memories

Sachin Pilgaonkar told News18 Showsha, “Satish and Madhu have always been extremely warm and lovable. We saw to it that we invite them for the premieres of all our films. They used to come for the screenings, the parties. They were always there in our list of guests and invitees. We couldn’t celebrate anything without them. And now, I’m wondering how we can celebrate events without him!”Elaborating further, he added, “Unfortunately, even Madhu isn’t well. She has Alzheimer’s. This year, Satish got his kidney transplanted. He wanted to extend his life so that he could take care of Madhu. He was on dialysis. Earlier, he underwent a bypass surgery, which was successful.”

Last memories and personal loss

“Supriya went to visit Satish and Madhu just three days back. I couldn’t go because I was shooting. He played some music and Supriya and Madhu danced. Madhu recalled how she would dance cha-cha-cha. Satish and I would keep exchanging texts. In fact, I received a message from him at 12:56 pm today, which means that he was absolutely fine even at that time. That I’m in shock is an understatement. Industry ka loss toh hua hi aur woh baat alag hai but it’s a very, very big personal loss to me,” Pilgaonkar shared.
