Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy denied K Kavitha’s explosive comments, where she accused him of colluding with senior Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Harish Rao to destroy the legacy of her father K Chandrasekhar Rao and the party.
This came after Kavitha was expelled from the BRS, a day after she accused her cousins – T Harish Rao and J Santosh Kumar – of “amassing assets and having a tacit understanding” with Revanth Reddy to tarnish the image of her father KCR.
Responding to Kavitha’s claims, Reddy urged the BRS to not drag Telangana into their politics. “Why should I stand behind some worthless people? I don’t stand behind anyone — if anything, I’ll be at the front. Why should I support those who have been rejected by the people? I don’t have time for that. Please don’t drag Telangana into your family and disputes,” he was quoted as saying by local reports.
The Chief Minister also accused BRS of conspiring against the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). “The one who (KCR) conspired against a party like Telugu Desam (TDP) and ensured it could not survive in Telangana. BRS, which conspired against TDP, will not survive in Telangana,” he said at a public event.
After her ouster from the party, K Kavitha urged her father to be careful of the party leaders surrounding him. “I spoke straightforwardly and requested him to consider my words. Revanth Reddy and Harish Rao allegedly planned to destroy our family while travelling together on a flight; Revanth Reddy should answer for this,” she said during a press conference.
“Revanth Reddy and Harish Rao allegedly planned to destroy our family while travelling together on a flight; Revanth Reddy should answer for this. Revanth Reddy booked cases against only my family members, KTR, and KCR, but not against Harish Rao. When the Kaleshwaram project began, Harish Rao was the Irrigation Minister, and Revath Reddy didn’t speak out against him. Harish Rao and Santosh Rao are allegedly planning to destroy our family and party,” she added.
