Zack “Asmongold,” the Twitch and Kick streamer, told viewers on November 14, 2025, that he was banned and “blacklisted” from every major Chinese social media platform. He spoke about this during a livestream while reacting to Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker’s trip to China. Asmongold watched a clip of Hasan Piker talking about how well his content performs in the country, and that made him talk about his own history with Chinese viewers.Asmongold said he was once very popular in China because he played World of Warcraft, a game that had a huge following there. His clips were shared widely, and many Chinese fans watched him daily. But he said this changed after he made what he called “negative” comments about China. He explained that once those comments were posted online, Chinese platforms removed his content and stopped sharing anything related to him.

Asmongold says Black Myth Wukong helped end his three-year ban in China

During his November 14, 2025, livestream, Asmongold said the ban lasted about three years. He told fans, “China watched me because I played WoW. Everything was fine. Then I made some negative comments about China, and I got banned from all Chinese social media. Nobody was posting anything about me.” He said he felt completely cut off from the region, and no clips of him appeared anywhere in China. Asmongold said things finally changed in 2024, when Black Myth Wukong was released. The game became very popular worldwide, and he enjoyed playing it on stream. According to him, Chinese viewers liked seeing him support the game, and that slowly opened the door again. He said, “Then Black Myth Wukong came out, and they said, ‘He likes this game. Bring him back.’ I was readmitted on Bilibili.” He added that Chinese channels soon started reposting his clips after years of silence.Asmongold also spoke about why he had been popular in China before the ban. He said Chinese fans liked that he played many of their games and understood the style of gameplay they enjoy. Also Read: How Much Money Did Ludwig Ahgren Raise For The Trevor Project? He denied the claim and said people were twisting simple moments to create drama.
