A wild speculation caught the fancy of X on Thanksgiving that Hillary Clinton will be running for president in 2028. The origins of this speculation were overenthusiastic MAGA influencers who could not contain their glee at the possibility of that happening and it spread like wildfire that Hillary Clinton may run for president. On her part, Hillary Clinton released a statement announcing an event in which both Bill and Hillary are scheduled to speak on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. Nothing less, nothing more.
“The Clintons will share reflections on the noble and important work of public service – from securing peace, prosperity, and progress during the Clinton administration to uplifting millions of people through the work of the Clinton Foundation,” a press release announcing the event stated. Social media users concluded that it might be the launching point of Hillary’s next political moves.
“SHE’S RUNNING!” Jason Miller, a senior advisor to Donald Trump, wrote on X with a link to a story highlighting the event.
“Please… PLEASE run,” conservative commentator Kevin Smith replied.
“Please God let it be so,” another user posted.
It’s too early for the announcement of the next presidential election when the new administration has not even taken over. And Hillary Clinton, who was defeated by Donald Trump in 2016m earlier said she had no plan on running for president ever again.
Donald Trump’s son Don Jr only had gratitude for the speculation. “Just when I thought I couldn’t be more thankful…” Don Jr posted.
It’s, however, highly unlikely for Hillary Clinton to throw the gauntlet as she will be 71 in 2028.
Kamala Harris will very much be in the race to run for the election again as she has already told her aides to keep her options open in both 2026 (guv) and 2028.
