Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray made remarks warning migrants from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh against what he described as attempts to impose Hindi in the state of Maharashtra.
Speaking at a public event, Thackeray said he did not harbour anger towards any language but would not tolerate efforts to force Hindi on the state. “I don’t have anger towards any language, but if people from Bihar and UP try to impose Hindi, they will be kicked out of Maharashtra,” he said.
The remarks were shared in a video posted by PTI, which said the comments were made during a political gathering attended by MNS workers and supporters.
Thackeray reiterated his long-standing stance on linguistic identity, asserting that the Marathi language and culture must be protected. He has previously opposed policies he views as undermining regional languages, often positioning the MNS as a defender of Marathi pride.
