Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday launched a sharp jab at Prime Minister Narendra Modi while speaking to reporters in Lucknow, questioning the feasibility of the government’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.

Responding to a journalist’s query, Yadav took a swipe at the long-term target year and made personal remarks about the Prime Minister’s age.

Addressing the gathering, Yadav questioned whether the Prime Minister himself would be around to see the plan through.

He remarked, “Will you live till 2047? You will not live yourself. We can see your age. You don’t have hair on your head.”

The Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, promoted by the Modi government, aims to transform India into a fully developed nation by the time the country marks 100 years of independence. The plan covers several major pillars of progress, including economic expansion, social advancement, sustainability, innovation, and stronger governance frameworks.

As part of the broader mission, the ‘Viksit Bharat @2047: Voice of Youth’ initiative has been launched to involve young citizens in shaping the future development agenda. Through workshops and consultations, the programme invites students and young professionals to share ideas and proposals that could contribute to India’s long-term growth plans.
