Navjot Kaur Sidhu Slams Rahul Gandhi, Praises PM Modi
Expelled Congress leader and former Punjab minister Navjot Kaur Sidhu has sharply criticised Congress MP and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, saying she finds it difficult to understand his approach to leadership.
She said he has not reached a level where he treats everyone equally and remains open to conversation. According to her, he still appears tied to the Gandhi family mindset and does not find time to listen to genuine well-wishers who are trying to guide him.
At the same time, she praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he is very spiritual and that it shows in his personality.
Navjot Kaur Sidhu said, “PM Narendra Modi is very spiritual, and it shows in his personality.
‘Eight months to meet is not right’
Navjot Kaur Sidhu said that if it takes eight months to meet someone, it is not right. She added that a leader is supposed to meet everyone, especially those who are honest and offering constructive advice.
She said that if a leader is not ready to receive such advice, then it is their choice.
She further said Rahul Gandhi talks well and talks sense, but what he does and what he says are very different. She claimed that for the past eight months she had been seeking time to tell him that the party president or the person appointed in Punjab is not doing justice to the state and is destroying the Congress in Punjab.
She said tickets have already been sold and that if Rahul Gandhi is not aware of what is happening beneath him, then he does not deserve the chair and is responsible for what is happening.
Allegations over promises and corruption
Navjot Kaur Sidhu said they left everything for Punjab and were promised a deputy chief minister’s post with seven departments and a position for her as an MP, but received nothing. She said they were given local bodies and tourism and were told these would be run according to the chief minister.
She questioned why Rahul Gandhi speaks against corruption when his own people are corrupt. She alleged that the people around him are totally corrupt and that he has no time for honest people who want to tell him what is going wrong, adding that the party will not win Punjab in this manner.
“Rahul Gandhi talks good. He talks sense. But what he does and what he says is very different. For the past eight months, I have been asking for a time to tell him that your people, your president or your person appointed in Punjab is not doing justice to Punjab. He’s killing Congress in Punjab. I’m just asking you for a seating to tell you that your party is being destroyed in Punjab. They’ve already sold the tickets… If you’re not aware of what’s happening beneath you, then I’m sorry. You don’t deserve that chair. You are responsible for what you are doing… We left everything for Punjab, and you promised us a deputy CM post with seven departments and me as an MP, but you gave us nothing. You gave us local bodies and tourism, and you wanted them to be run according to the CM… Why are you talking against corruption when your own people are corrupt? And you’re liking those corrupt people around you. The people surrounding you are totally corrupt. You have no time for the honest people who want to come and tell you that this is going wrong, you’re not going to win Punjab,” she added.
