Days after the nation witnessed a massive drama at India’s AI Summit in the national capital, the Delhi police on Tuesday arrested Youth Congress president Uday Bhanu Chib. According to sources, the Congress leader is likely to be produced in court.
The police is interrogating Chib as part of their probe into the protest case, sources informed. Meanwhile, it has been learnt that the Congress leader is not cooperating with the investigation.
According to Congress MP Sasikanth Senthil, Chib was picked up by Delhi Police at around 4:30 am and has been in police custody for nearly 20 hours.
The members of the Indian Youth Congress staged a protest at the Bharat Mandapam venue of the Al Impact India Summit in the national capital by removing their shirts with slogans that read, “Compromised PM”, as a mark of dissent.
In a statement, the Indian Youth Congress said its workers were protesting against a “compromised Prime Minister who has traded the identity of the country at the AI Summit.”
Meanwhile, BJP workers held protests across multiple states against the Congress as the party demanded that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi should apologise.
