Bata India has outlined its next phase of growth, focusing on product innovation, retail experience, digital acceleration and operational excellence as it looks to drive sustainable and profitable growth.

At its 93rd AGM, the company highlighted its retail transformation, with a network of 2,000+ brand outlets and 775+ franchise stores. More than 1,000 stores are omnichannel-enabled, while around 70 per cent offer hyperlocal delivery.

Bata’s Zero Base Merchandising (ZBM) initiative is now operational across 800+ stores and is targeting 900+ stores by the end of 2026. The initiative uses local demand patterns to improve product availability, reduce clutter and create more relevant store assortments.

The company has also improved in-store availability by 8 per cent, while inventory freshness has increased to around 90 per cent. Its product portfolio is being refreshed across brands including Hush Puppies, Power, Floatz, Comfit and Bata, with greater emphasis on comfort, contemporary styling and value.

Bata India has approved a 180 per cent final dividend and remains focused on higher volumes, premiumisation, stronger consumer engagement and disciplined capital allocation.
