Assembly Elections 2026 Highlights: As the political mercury is rising with each passing day in West Bengal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday accused Mamata Banerjee of protecting “infiltrators” and encouraging dynastic politics. He further attacked Banerjee for supporting efforts to build a “Babri Masjid-modelled mosque” in the state.
Speaking at a rally in Salboni, ahead of the first phase of the Assembly elections, Shah positioned the contest as an ideological fight between the BJP and the ruling Trinamool Congress.
