Elections 2026 West Bengal, Tamil Nadu Voting LIVE Updates: Voting for the 2026 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal began from 7 am across several constituencies. In Tamil Nadu, polling is being held in a single phase for all the 234 Assembly constituencies in the state. The state has over 5.7 crore registered voters, and authorities have deployed extensive security and logistical arrangements to manage the large-scale exercise smoothly.
In the West Bengal Assembly elections, the polls will be held for 152 seats covering 16 districts during Phase 1 today. The second phase of polling in the West Bengal Assembly elections will be held next Wednesday, April 29.
Election officials have urged voters to carry valid identity documents and follow all guidelines issued by the poll body. The Election Commission has also emphasised that the elections must be conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner, with strict enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct already in effect.
