Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday decided to drop Konda Surekha from his cabinet with immediate effect.

Konda Susmita, daughter of Telangana Forest Minister Konda Surekha, has clarified that her recent criticism of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was made in her personal capacity and was not aimed at any political party.
Speaking to CNN-News18, Susmita said, “My statement was personal and not against any party.” She added, “I just spoke against one person in my personal capacity.”
Susmita said she was deeply upset over the treatment of her mother amid the ongoing political controversy. “ Injustice done to my mother. I am deeply hurt that my mother has been treated like this,” she said.
She also made it clear that she would continue to stand up for her mother, saying, “My mother will not be silenced. I curse Revanth Reddy.”
Susmita also issued a direct challenge to the Chief Minister, saying, “I challenge Revanth Reddy to contest from the seat of my mother.”
Her remarks come amid a growing dispute within the Telangana Congress over the Parkal Assembly seat and the political developments surrounding her mother.
Revanth Reddy Decides To Remove Surekha
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday decided to drop Konda Surekha from his cabinet with immediate effect. The appointment of State Planning Board Vice Chairman G Chinna Reddy has also been cancelled.
The decision to remove Surekha from the Cabinet has already been communicated to the office of Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla.
Remarks Trigger Action
The row escalated after both Susmita and Chinna Reddy made allegations involving senior leaders of the party.
Susmita accused Revanth Reddy of giving prime land to a shell company allegedly linked to his brother for a price far below its value. Chinna Reddy, on the other hand, claimed that Wanaparthy MLA T Megha Reddy was offered a party ticket after being enticed with money.
Their remarks did not go down well with several party leaders. Some demanded disciplinary action against the two leaders over their statements.
Surekha, however, distanced herself from her daughter’s comments and said she should not be held accountable for what Susmita had said. Despite this, some MLAs called for action against the minister as well.
Congress High Command Intervenes
Amid the growing tensions, the party high command summoned Revanth Reddy, Konda Surekha and several other ministers for discussions.
After a series of meetings, the high command gave its approval for Surekha to be dropped from the Cabinet.
