The India-Pakistan cricket rivalry will come head-to-head once again, as the teams have met twice before in World Championship of Legends (WCL). The India Champions are set to clash against Pakistan Champions in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) in Dubai on October 10, 2026.
This has happened as both teams were unable to play against each other in either of the meetings. India Champions could not take the field against Pakistan Champions in the match which was scheduled in their league match at Edgbaston in 2025. However, the teams were later drawn against each other in the semi-final which also got abandoned with the Indian players refusing to play.
India Champions will play Pakistan Champions in Dubai on October 10, 2026, for the World Championship of Legends Season 3; previous matches in 2025 were abandoned due to rising political tensions and player refusal.
The matches occurred amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack and India’s Operation Sindoor. A number of Indian players were against the idea of playing against Pakistan during the tournament.
The third season of the competition will witness a return series between Pakistan and India as both sides look forward to meeting in Dubai in October 2026.
India Champions will kick off their campaign against Australia Champions in Sharjah on October 3 followed by a rematch against England Champions. It moves on to a tie against South Africa Champions on October 6 ahead of the Pakistan clash in Dubai.
India’s remaining league matches are against Bangladesh on October 11 in Dubai and West Indies on October 13 in Sharjah. The semi-finals are scheduled for October 16 while the final will be played in Sharjah on October 18.
WCL founder and CEO Harshit Tomar said that the third season of the competition is about bringing together all major rivalries and legends as the WCL comes to the UAE for the first time.
India and Pakistan will be joined by Bangladesh Champions in the third season which will see teams from India, Pakistan, Australia, England, South Africa and West Indies taking part.
The matches will be held in the UAE at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium and Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
