India Women’s Kabaddi Team Wins Gold
India also added another gold medal to its Asian Games 2026 campaign as the women’s kabaddi team defeated Iran 37-34 in a closely contested final.
The victory gave India its third gold medal of the Games and allowed the women’s team to successfully defend the title it won at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games.
Sanju Devi was once again among India’s key performers and played an important role in the team’s successful title defence.

Unnati Hooda Reaches Badminton Pre-Quarterfinals
India also made progress in badminton, with Unnati Hooda reaching the women’s singles pre-quarterfinals. The Indian shuttler defeated Malaysia’s Wong Ling Ching 21-14, 20-22, 21-19 in a closely fought contest.
Unnati won the opening game 21-14, but Wong fought back in the second game to force a decider. Unnati held her nerve in the final game, winning 21-19 to seal her place in the next round.
