Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has called for the fans’ unity and positivity as his team is set to face off against Liverpool at Anfield on October 11.
The Premier League clash will be highly anticipated by the fans as both teams have had a successful start to the season. Manchester City has won all five of their opening fixtures, placing them at the top of the table. As for their rivals, Liverpool FC started the season with two victories and three losses, placing them at sixth.
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has appealed for fan positivity ahead of the team’s October 11 match against Liverpool, citing his special bond with the club due to his family’s history in England.
Ahead of the highly anticipated match, the Norwegian striker called upon the fans to support the team and be positive. In his comments to JioStar, Haaland stated that the players and fans should always back each other and be optimistic about the matches ahead.

“I think that the players and the fans should always stick together and be positive about the games. I hope that the fans will enjoy the journey, and the matchday, and we can get a good result against Liverpool,” Haaland said.

The star striker also shared his feelings about his relationship with the club and the country. He identified his bond with the club as special and unique. “Because my family was already here in the UK, it felt special to me,” the striker said.
His father, Alfie Haaland, was also a professional footballer who played for Manchester City. The striker also lived in England during his childhood years.
“There were times when we lived in Nottingham and in Leeds as well. My mom was here for almost ten years, and my dad was training at Carrington,” he recalled. The striker added that the bond between him, his family, and the fans was one of the reasons why he felt so inclined to play for Manchester City. “I know what the fans feel for the club as I am a fan of Manchester City myself,” Haaland said.
