Metro Brands has appointed Atul Sinha as president – Core Business, as the footwear retailer strengthens its leadership team to drive growth across its Metro and Mochi store formats.

In his new role, Sinha will lead the strategy and growth of the company’s Metro and Mochi businesses, with responsibility for brand positioning, consumer engagement and operational execution across channels.

Commenting on the appointment, Nissan Joseph, CEO, Metro Brands, said Sinha’s experience across brand building, merchandising, retail operations and customer experience will support the company’s efforts to strengthen the execution and positioning of its Metro and Mochi brands.

Sinha joins Metro Brands from CaratLane, where he served as chief operating officer and led functions including sales, merchandising, category management, marketing and international business. Earlier, he held leadership roles across category management, marketing and sales at Hindustan Unilever Limited.

Commenting on his appointment, Sinha said Metro Brands has built a strong brand legacy and consumer understanding, and that he looks forward to strengthening the company’s core business and expanding growth opportunities across markets and channels.

Metro Brands operates a portfolio of in-house footwear brands, including Metro Shoes, Mochi Shoes, Walkway, MetroActiv, Da Vinchi and J. Fontini, along with partner brands such as Crocs, FitFlop, Fila, New Era, Clarks, Skechers and Puma.

As of March 31, 2026, the company operated 1,032 stores across 221 cities in 31 states and union territories.
