Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday rejected opposition allegations of paper leaks in the state, claiming that no examination paper had leaked during the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s tenure.

Mann said his government had provided 69,000 government jobs purely on merit, without any recommendations, money or irregularities. He accused the BJP, Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal of trying to damage Punjab’s image and mislead the state’s youth with “false” allegations.

Mann says cheating attempt was stopped

Speaking during his visit to Parliament, where he met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and other MPs, Mann said political paper leak controversy, the Punjab caught using a Bluetooth-enabled pen to scan the question paper and receive answers from people outside through an earpiece. started at 11 am, and by 11:15 am we had found that a differences should not turn into personal conflicts.

Addressing the paper leak controversy, the Punjab CM said, “Our government has completed four-and-a-half years in office, but not a single examination paper has leaked in Punjab during this period.”

He said a recent case involving a pharmacy examination was not a paper leak but an attempt at cheating, which was immediately detected by authorities.

Mann said a candidate was caught using a Bluetooth-enabled pen to scan the question paper and receive answers from people outside through an earpiece. He added that Punjab Police arrested 10 candidates and an 11-member gang allegedly involved in the cheating operation.

“The exam started at 11 am, and by 11:15 am we had found that a candidate was using a Bluetooth-enabled pen to scan the question paper and receive answers through an earpiece from people sitting outside,” Mann said, adding that those involved were sent to jail.

CM hits back at opposition demands

Responding to calls for the resignation of Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, Mann said the pharmacy examination came under the Health Department and not the Education Department.

He said the Health Minister had already clarified that there was no paper leak and that the examination was completed successfully.

Taking aim at opposition parties, Mann said the BJP, Congress and Akali Dal should focus on their own issues instead of targeting the Punjab government.

“The BJP, Congress and Akali Dal should first put their own house in order instead of worrying about the ‘Jhaadu’ (broom),” he said.
