According to Yle MOT, as claimed by Olivia’s parents – artist Johanna Oras and art dealer Reijo Oras- the internet personality lost consciousness during the anesthesia before undergoing a cosmetic procedure at a private beauty clinic in Helsinki, Finland. The incident reportedly took place on September 3.
As per her parents, Olivia was then transferred to the Helsinki University Hospital for treatment, where she was pronounced dead by the doctors. The Oras family’s spokesperson informed PEOPLE that they “filed a police report about the matter”. On September 9, the police said in a statement, “The investigation is in its early stages, and there is no further information to share at this time. (sic)”
Who Was Olivia Oras?
Born in Finland, Olivia Oras was a famous Finnish influencer who shot to fame as a teenager after she created her Instagram account. Currently, she has 17k followers on her verified Insta handle.
In 2016, Oras also appeared in the documentary ‘The Perfect Smile,’ which followed her life online for 1.5 years, exploring her relationship with social media and her followers. But after the documentary was released, she closed her social media accounts and moved to Amsterdam in 2017. But when she witnessed a friend dying by suicide, she returned to Helsinki and developed an addiction to alcohol and sleeping pills. Later in 2022, she reportedly spent a month receiving treatment at a rehabilitation facility.
On July 26, Olivia Oras shared a series of photos from a food outing at the French Riviera with a man. In one of the pictures, she appeared to be holding his hand as it rested on her thigh while he was driving.
According to a report by Sieska Fi, Olivia was previously in a relationship with a woman named Pinja. The two had reportedly gone their separate ways before Olivia’s death.
