Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed confidence that the Congress will retain power in the 2029 Assembly elections, declaring that the party would secure a landslide victory by winning 117 out of the proposed 182 Assembly seats and 20 of the expected 26 Lok Sabha seats after the proposed delimitation exercise.

Addressing the ‘Rythu Aashirwad Sabha’ in Khammam district, the Chief Minister gave the slogan, “Aur Ek Baar, Congress Sarkar”, and called upon party workers to ensure the Congress’s victory in the next elections.

Predicts Congress Victory in 2029

Revanth Reddy said he believes the next Assembly elections are likely to be held in May or June 2029, instead of December 2028, following the proposed delimitation exercise, which is expected to increase Telangana’s Assembly seats from 119 to 182 and Lok Sabha seats from 17 to 26.

“I am predicting the election results 36 months in advance. Congress will return to power by winning 117 of the 182 Assembly seats. Let us also ensure victory in 20 out of the 26 Lok Sabha seats and make Rahul Gandhi the next Prime Minister of India,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister slammed the opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), accusing it of spreading “fake survey” reports claiming the Congress would lose the next elections. He also questioned the credibility of such surveys, saying it was impossible to predict election outcomes without clarity on the election schedule or reservation policies after delimitation.

He alleged that similar claims made by the BRS in the past had been rejected by voters and dismissed the party’s survey exercise as political propaganda.

Revanth Reddy also claimed that the people had already defeated K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and the BRS in the 2023 Assembly elections and alleged that the former Chief Minister had remained confined to his farmhouse since then.

The Chief Minister also challenged senior BRS leader T Harish Rao to swear in KCR’s name that he would never join the BJP. He further alleged that there was a lack of trust among BRS leaders and their family members over the party’s future.

Responding to opposition demands regarding the Medigadda barrage, Revanth Reddy warned that releasing water from the damaged structure could submerge the temple town of Bhadrachalam and affect 44 villages in Khammam district.

Highlighting his government’s welfare initiatives, the Chief Minister said the Congress administration was working tirelessly for farmers and the poor. He said the government had continued implementing schemes such as ‘Rythu Bandhu’ and ‘Shaadi Mubarak’, while also providing fine-quality rice, 200 units of free electricity, Indiramma houses, increasing Rythu Bharosa assistance to Rs 12,000, and implementing farm loan waivers.

On the occasion, Revanth Reddy also announced the sanctioning of an engineering college for Madhira following a request from Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka.
