The Aam Aadmi Party has reacted sharply to the repeated increase in fuel prices across the country over the last 10 days, accusing the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government of failing to address rising inflation and fuel costs.

Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi after petrol, diesel and CNG prices were raised again.

In a post on X, Sisodia said, “In just ten days, you have raised petrol and diesel prices by Rs 5, Modi ji! Do something! How long will you keep distracting the people of the country from your failures by showing reels of toffees and lollipops?”

He also accused the government of silencing critics through central agencies.

“How long will you continue to silence those who question you using the power of the ED and CBI? Do something — you are the Prime Minister of the country!” Sisodia said.

Fuel prices raised again

Fuel prices have been raised across the country once again on Saturday as the government tries to recover some of the losses linked to higher crude import costs amid West Asia conflict. Compressed Natural Gas prices in New Delhi have been increased once again, marking the third fuel hike in less than 10 days.

CNG prices were raised by Rs 1 per kilogram, taking the rate from Rs 80.09 per kg to Rs 81.09 per kg in the national capital.

The latest increase came shortly after fresh hikes in petrol and diesel prices on Saturday morning.

Petrol and diesel rates increased

Petrol prices in Delhi rose by 87 paise, moving from Rs 98.64 per litre to Rs 99.51 per litre.

Diesel prices increased by 91 paise, climbing from Rs 91.58 per litre to Rs 92.49 per litre.

The repeated rise in fuel prices over the past 10 days has intensified concerns over inflation and transportation costs.

Fuel prices in metro cities

Revised petrol prices across the four metro cities are now:

Delhi: Rs 99.51 per litre

Kolkata: Rs 110.64 per litre

Mumbai: Rs 108.49 per litre

Chennai: Rs 105.31 per litre

Diesel prices in the metro cities stand at:

Delhi: Rs 92.49 per litre

Kolkata: Rs 97.02 per litre

Mumbai: Rs 95.02 per litre

Chennai: Rs 96.98 per litre

The latest revision means petrol, diesel and CNG prices have now been increased three times within a span of less than 10 days. The fresh rise in CNG prices is expected to affect transport operators and daily commuters who depend on gas-powered vehicles in Delhi.
