Cockroach Janta Party’s X account was withheld in India after gaining over 200K followers, founder Abhijeet Dipke announced created a new handle.

The Cockroach Janta Party’s X account was withheld in India on Thursday amid its rising popularity among the Gen Z of the country.
Confirming the banning of the account on X, party founder Abhijeet Dipke posted a screenshot which showed that the account has been withheld in India. In the post, he wrote, “As expected, Cockroach Janta Party’s account has been withheld in India”.
The founder further claimed that the account was banned because it got more than 200K followers.
“Cockroach Janta Party’s account was started on 16th May. Within 4 days the account got banned because it got more than 200K following,” he said.

Within an hour, Dipke announced that they have created a new account of the Cockroach Janta Party on the social media platform X.

Cockroach Janta Party’s account on X was blocked amid its meteoric rise across social media platforms.
What Is Cockroach Janta Party?
The term “Cockroach Janta Party” originated as a satirical backlash to remarks allegedly made by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant during a recent court hearing.
During the proceedings, the CJI had reportedly referred to certain unemployed youths and social media activists as “cockroaches” and “parasites”, sparking widespread criticism online.
What started just days ago as a meme-driven protest campaign on social media has rapidly evolved into a viral digital movement, resonating strongly with young people frustrated over unemployment, examination paper leaks, political rhetoric and questions surrounding institutional accountability.

Despite its satirical tone, the group’s manifesto includes several serious political demands. These include barring former Chief Justices from accepting post-retirement Rajya Sabha positions, increasing accountability of the Election Commission, ensuring 50 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and ministerial posts, and introducing reforms related to media ownership and employment rights.
The movement has relied heavily on humour, memes and sharp political commentary, helping it gain massive traction online within a short span of time.
As the trend picked up momentum, another parody outfit titled “Indian National Cockroaches” also emerged online, launched by social media influencers.
