Vivo X500 Series Launch Set for Next Month as Executive Reveals ‘Major’ Camera Upgrades
SHARE

Vivo X500 series will be launched in China next month, a company executive has confirmed. The executive also revealed that the next-generation flagship Vivo lineup will include three smartphones, unlike last year’s Vivo X300 series, which initially included only two phones. The company has also announced that the Vivo X500 lineup will deliver significant camera upgrades over its predecessor. Moreover, the three upcoming handsets will boast a Zeiss-tuned camera system, similar to the Vivo X300 series. However, a few upgrades will only be reserved for the top-of-the-line Pro Max model, the smartphone maker teased. The phones are expected to be powered by unreleased MediaTek chipsets.

Vivo X500 Series Will Launch in China in September

In a post on Weibo, Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao announced on Monday that the Vivo X500 series will be launched in China in September. The company executive has also announced that the upcoming lineup will include the Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro, and Vivo X500 Pro Max. This also confirms that the tech firm is changing its product strategy this year with the addition of the new Pro Max model, unlike last year, when the company unveiled only two models initially, namely the Vivo X300 and Vivo X300 Pro.

Boxiao has also confirmed that the Vivo X500 Pro series will arrive with notable camera upgrades over its predecessor. The company executive has announced that the Vivo X500 Pro series will be equipped with a ‘Zeiss Super Dynamic’ (translated from Chinese) primary rear camera, featuring a Blueprint Phantom 900 sensor, offering an “ultra-high dynamic range” of 17EV. Moreover, the lineup will be capable of recording up to 4K/240 fps videos.

Additionally, the Vivo X500 Pro series will be able to record up to 4K/120 fps HDR videos. The Vivo X500 Pro Max will exclusively offer three-degree wide-angle optical image stabilisation and CIPA 7.0 “professional-grade” image stabilisation. However, the company has yet to announce the exact launch date of the upcoming Vivo X500 series. More details are expected to be revealed as its debut nears.

Recently, a Vivo X500 Pro series phone was reportedly spotted in real life during an advertisement shoot. The handset was shown to sport a circular rear camera module, similar to its predecessor. The flagship Vivo X500 Pro Max has also previously been spotted on the 3C certification database in China with 90W wired fast charging support and 5G connectivity.
