PM Modi accused the TMC of betraying the women of the country by not supporting a constitutional amendment for women’s reservation in Parliament.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday trained his guns on the Trinamool Congress (TMC), accusing the party of betraying the women of West Bengal after a failed parliamentary push for a bill on women’s reservation. He also gave an ultimatum to TMC’s “goons and syndicates” to surrender before the results of the upcoming elections.
Addressing a rally in Bankura, PM Modi said the gathering of thousands of people symbolised the public anger against the “ruthless” TMC government and growing support for the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) entry in Bengal.
“As you may have seen in Parliament, the TMC has once again betrayed the women of Bengal. This is the very same TMC that repeatedly breaks laws and rules for the benefit of infiltrators. It is also the same party that is actively promoting religion-based reservations. In doing so, it is undermining the spirit of the Constitution,” he said.
PM Modi’s Final Warning
The Prime Minister accused the TMC of conspiring with Congress to deny women 33% reservation in Parliament, adding that the party must be severely punished in the upcoming elections.
He further emphasised that the elections in West Bengal will create a new history, and the language used by TMC leaders are an indication of their fear of the results. “The big leaders of TMC – their threats, their goonish language, their crying – this is an exit poll before May 4,” he said.
“I am giving one last chance to all TMC goons, syndicates, and corrupt elements. Surrender at your nearest police station before April 29. After May 4, no one will be spared. The mafia of Bishnupur and TMC’s syndicate , listen carefully: this will no longer be tolerated,” he added.

‘TMC Hates Tribal Leaders’
Prime Minister Modi alleged that women in West Bengal are unable to get the benefits they get in BJP-ruled states due to the corruption in the TMC government, and promised that the BJP government in West Bengal would provide free rations, financial assistance to build homes and medical treatment.
“The TMC hates tribal sisters and daughters. The BJP gave the country its first tribal woman President because we want to empower the tribal community, but the TMC has insulted the tribal community,” he said. “They did not want India’s President to be from the tribal community. Today, the whole world respects President Droupadi Murmu, but the anti-tribal TMC insults her.”
