The ruling NDA alliance in Andhra Pradesh has finalised its seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) set to contest three of the four seats and the Jana Sena Party allotted one seat.

The decision was taken during a meeting of NDA leaders, who discussed the alliance’s strategy for the Rajya Sabha polls and reached a consensus on the distribution of seats.

Under the agreement, the TDP, led by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, will field candidates for three Rajya Sabha seats, while the Jana Sena Party, headed by Pawan Kalyan, will contest one seat.

Sources said the name of the Jana Sena Party’s Rajya Sabha nominee will be announced by the party leadership in the coming days.

Apart from seat-sharing, NDA leaders also reviewed preparations related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and discussed organisational matters ahead of upcoming political activities in the state.

The seat-sharing formula reflects the balance within the NDA coalition in Andhra Pradesh, where the TDP remains the dominant partner while Jana Sena continues to play a key role in the alliance.

With the numbers currently in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly favouring the ruling coalition, NDA candidates are expected to comfortably secure the Rajya Sabha seats allotted under the arrangement.
