Liverpool are still searching for their first Premier League victory of the 2026/27 season after being held to a 2-2 draw by Nottingham Forest.

The Reds drew their second consecutive league match, so new manager Andoni Iraola has just two points from his first two games in charge. They emerged from their opening league game last weekend with a draw too, so far from a promising start for Jurgen Klopp’s successor.

Liverpool drew 2-2 with Nottingham Forest in the 2026/27 Premier League, with goals from Dan Ndoye, Alexander Isak, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Victor Munoz. New manager Andoni Iraola’s team remains winless and sits 10th with two points from two games.

Nottingham Forest got off to a flyer and took the lead through Dan Ndoye in the 24th minute. However, Liverpool responded in the second half when Alexander Isak equalised in the 60th minute.

Then Morgan Gibbs-White restored Forest’s lead in the 70th, before Victor Munoz drew once again level eight minutes from time.

Iraola was full of praise for Munoz, who was a constant menace for the hosts, even if his energy was wasted at times.

“Victor has been very good in both games. I like that he sometimes has not made the best decisions, sometimes made some fouls, everything has not been perfect, but he has kept going always,” said Iraola.

The Liverpool boss added: “He has been a menace always. The other day he helped us with the penalty, today with a goal, he has always been there. He has done very well, so I am happy with him yes.”

Meanwhile, the Reds find themselves 10th in the table after two league games, with just two points from their opening two fixtures.

Their next league game is at Portman Road against Ipswich and Iraola will be hoping to get his first victory in charge of the Reds, so he can put his team up the table.

The encounter against Ipswich will be crucial for Iraola to demonstrate that Liverpool can move on from their slow start and accelerate under the new boss.
